Camel Pose - Ustrasana

Getting (and staying) fit can be fun

The camel pose stretches the abdominal organs to the maximum and cures constipation.  It also stretches the throat, thyroid gland, and parathyroids.  It opens a narrow rib cage to give more space to the lungs.  Maximum compression to the spine improves flexibility of the neck and spine and relieves backache.  It also firms and slims the abdomen and waistline.

Why practice Bikram Yoga?

The repetition of postures combined with the heat allows for systemic regulation and optimal functioning of all organs, tissues, glands, nerves, systems etc.  The strict routine allows students to go deep in to a meditative state, focusing and relaxing the mind, while physically stretching, strengthening, re-shaping and healing the body.
